POSITION: Asst. Project Manager (APM) – Roofing Department

Job Requirements:

There are several basic requirements that are associated with this job and they are as follows:

  • The APM acknowledges that he or she may be required to meet all background check requirements.

  • This job requires that the individual have a valid driver’s license and an MVR record that meets the minimum requirements that are indicated in the company handbook.

  • Individual must have a negative result on a pre-employment drug test.

  • This job requires that the individual be willing to work outside on the jobsite in many weather conditions (ex. Summer heat, winter cold, etc.).

  • This job requires that the individual be able to climb a ladder, scaffold or any other means to reach the rooftop. This job requires that the individual be able to work at heights and use the proper safety equipment when required.

  • Roofing experience is not required but is desired. Must have 3-5 years minimum of management experience.

    Job Start:

    Salary: $ 900.00 to $ 950.00 per week(DOE)

    Four Month-Eight Month – One Year – Evaluations:

    The employee will receive three performance reviews during the first years’ employment. Provided that the employee is meeting the goals and objectives set by management, the APM may receive a pay increase to be determined by management. Future evaluations will be done on an annual basis.

    JOB DESCRIPTION – Assistant Project Manager

  • Responsible for all email correspondence. Both intra-office and to/from the customer.

  • At the direction of the PM be responsible for answering all RFIs and ASIs. APM will coordinate with estimator for pricing of certain items.

  • APM will be required to price certain items after he or she is trained.

  • With the assistance of the PM or senior estimator the APM will layout all materials for production by area so that they reflect the estimate.

  • With the assistance of the PM/senior estimator the APM will put together a budget for labor on all jobs. This will be required to be broken down into phase or activity and must reflect the estimate.

  • Assist with the submittal process as required. Develop site specific safety plans

  • Compile vendor data and send-out RFQs to vendors for material purchase.

  • Issue purchase orders and order materials.

  • Material layouts.

  • Schedule material pick-up and deliveries.

  • Prepare production drawings for field crews.

  • General processing of paperwork, invoices and items associated with job closings.

  • Pick-up and drop-off department items as needed.

    (Ex. materials, tools, drawings, etc.)

  • The APM will be required to meet with the project manager weekly for progress meetings. Note: Meeting times will change to accommodate productions schedules.

  • Produce production schedule for all projects.

  • The APM will be required to attend jobsite meetings as required.

  • The APM will be required to spend time with our field crews to learn the basics of our business from the field aspect.

  • The APM will assist in the writing and development of SOPs for his or her job and the entire department as project manager requires.

  • The APM will be responsible for time sheets, accident reports, expense reports, tickets from all material deliveries.

  • The APM will also be required to assist other members of the department with Quality Control in the department.

  • The APM will handle tools and equipment. The APM is also responsible for seeing that all maintenance and repair is performed on the tools and equipment. If repair with an outside vendor is required then the APM will be responsible for coordinating the repair.

  • The APM will be responsible for maintaining an adequate supply of safety equipment (hard hats, vests, gloves, etc.).

  • Schedule, monitor and coordinate all rental items (Ex. Lifts, scaffolds, tools, etc.)

  • Estimating – The APM will handle all field measurements, coring, details, etc, for assisting in the development of prices and proposals for existing projects. The APM may be called upon to assist senior estimating with new construction projects as well. 

  • Special Projects.
