Business Development Specialist

A growing Savannah – based HR services firm, Sullivan Group HR is seeking a Business Development Specialist. The Business Development Specialist is responsible for the generation of new clients and revenue by selling to “C” level executives and business owners. The Business Development Specialist will be required to solicit potential prospects, make presentations, ascertain prospective client’s needs, design proposals, close proposals, perform implementation and provide service to clients as needed. The Business Development Specialist will provide a consultative approach to create an innovative solution that best fits the individual needs of each client. Performance Standards:
· Sales activity/RFP meeting activity, measured weekly and monthly
· RFP’s submitted and accepted, measured monthly, quarterly, and annually
· AGM measured monthly, quarterly, and annually
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years proven track record of success selling complex products and solutions in a consultative selling environment. Generalist in human resources required in the absence of college degree, HRO, insurance, intangible sales experience and a P& C license preferred.
Knowledge: Knowledge in related fields of human resources, workers’ compensation, risk management, employee benefits, insurance, payroll preferred. Proficient in MS Office products; Word, Power Point, Excel and CRM.
Other Requirements: Self-starter skilled in working independently as well as collaboratively; demonstrated “hunter” mentality for finding and closing new business; ability to develop consultative relationships with clients and partners to fully understand needs and identify opportunities; ability to articulate value and close business.
