Biblia, Inc. Marine Towing and Transportation is looking for full time deckhands who live within one hour of the city of Savannah, GA.

This position is full time and permanent with opportunities for advancement. Deckhands travel on the tugboats and work on site in the shipyard in Savannah, GA. (The ability to travel is required.) Tugboats work in the Intracoastal Waterway and on Near Coastal waters from Texas to Maine, and many places in between. Deckhands typically work a four weeks on two weeks off schedule. Description of typical deckhand duties: The deckhand position is broken down into two jobs- boat work and yard work. When on a boat trip the deckhand is in charge of general maintenance, cooking, cleaning, painting, hourly engine room checks, maintaining engine room logs, and throwing lines on barges. While on the boat trips, meals are provided at no charge to the crew. On boat trips, crew members typically work a 6 hours on 6 hours off schedule. When not working on a boat, deckhands report to the yard to work Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm with a 30 minute lunch and go home every day. Work on the yard can be described as; assisting welders, working with our mechanics, sandblasting, painting, pumping out barges, landscaping, and general clearing.
