Education Programs Manager

Job Summary

Education Programs manager plans, schedules, leads and organizes student and youth programs for the museum

Duties and responsibilities

Book, guide, plan and promote tours and programs

Research and write Newsletter articles

Develop and implement new educational programs

Plan, promote and teach summer camps and day camps

Plan, teach and promote education programs such as Model building days, camps, speakers, etc

Plan, schedule, promote Bunking In spend the night education program

Help in museum store with student groups and promote dog tag sales

Research and create exhibit posters for museum and print

Assist with Flying Footlocker outreach education program as assigned

Purchase items needed for programs

Help plan Character Counts! programs and serve on the Mighty Eighth/Savannah Chatham Character Counts Community Committee- CC Student of the Month

Assist with Education Department social media

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications.

B.A. in Education, History or related field; two years related experiences

Sound verbal and writing skills and good organizational skills

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to work well with others in a team situation

Strong Attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google suite

Physical requirements

Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and some climbing

Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds

Must be able to work flexible hours-including weekends, nights and overnight when events are scheduled
