HR Generalist

Our client, a health and wellness startup, is looking for a motivated HR Generalist to join their rapidly growing business. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, strong critical thinking skills, and experience working with payroll.

Responsibilities:

Recruit, manage, train, and support the success employees by establishing rapport and control

Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings

Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

Implements new hire orientation

Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance training, continuing education, and work assessments

Complete and file appropriate document(s) in employee/client files

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Prepare payroll timesheets as needed

Posting of payroll data for accuracy, process payroll and assigned reports in a timely manner

Record employee changes (separations, rate changes, benefits, and deductions)

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically excel and Google docs

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Knowledgeable of all payroll tax laws and changes

All potential candidates must pass pre-employment drug screen, skills assessments, reference, and criminal background check.
