Maintenance Manager

Desoto Beach and Vacation Properties on beautiful Tybee Island is seeking a Maintenance Manager. If you are someone who takes pride in every aspect of your work, looking for growth and development, this essential position is perfect for you!

The Maintenance Manager will report to the General Manager and supervise a team of maintenance employees and an Assistant Maintenance Manager. In addition, the ideal candidate will assist with and completing repairs and maintenance of the various properties in accordance with company standards. This is a critical role to ensure the properties meet the standards of quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and safety and security. The hours will vary; however, it is 5-day work week, including weekends.

Essential Job Functions

•Visually inspect rooms and public areas to ensure that work orders are properly completed according to Company standards 

•Maintain proper equipment and supply inventory; follow hotel operations procedures and communicate with the General Manager to ensure that orders are placed for any needed equipment or supplies 

•Assist the General Manager by monitoring maintenance staff productivity to ensure labor cost objectives are met

• Assist the General Manager with preparing staff work schedules and directing staff to adhere to schedules. Adjust schedules as needed to meet business demands 

•Assist the General Manager to recruit, hire, train, and retain employees to deliver exceptional guest service and a quality product. Maintain an acceptable level of turnover

•Ensure that the maintenance staff receives satisfactory guest satisfaction and product quality scores. Take corrective action to improve any deficiencies

•Assist the General Manager to recruit, hire, train, and retain employees to deliver exceptional guest service and a quality product. Maintain an acceptable level of turnover 

•Train maintenance staff to successfully perform job duties and achieve Company standards

Education and Experience

•HS Diploma or GED

•2 years of general repair and previous maintenance experience in apartment or hotel and supervisory experience

•Proficient  knowledge and experience with electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC

•Ability to adhere to a set and variable work schedule, including weekends and emergencies as required

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with various guests and employees

•Valid Driver’s License  and reliable  transportation

•Must be CPO certified
