A local private school, located in beautiful downtown Savannah,  is in seeking a Maintenance Technician. This is a critical position as it ensures the school is safe for the students and staff. This position requires someone with strong work ethic and the drive to ensure maintenance of the property is up to the school’s standards. This is 40-hour M-F position with paid benefits including holidays.

 Responsibilities 

•Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards

•Prepare, prime, and paint building interior and exterior surfaces

•Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, and controllers.

•Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)

•Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.

•Complied with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials

•Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs

•Maintain a clean and safe work environment

•Document work performance and materials procurement as directed

Qualifications

•High School Diploma or GED

•2+ years Maintenance Technician experience 

•Professionalism 

•Strong work ethic

•Willing to do challenging work

•Ability to understand and carry out verbal & written 

•Ability to perform such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, crouching, walking, sitting, and carry repetitively and for long periods of time.
