ABOUT HOSPICE SAVANNAH

Founded in 1979, Hospice Savannah, Inc. is the original, not-for-profit hospice helping patients and their families throughout Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Libertycounties. Our mission is to provide our community the best services and resources on living with a life limiting illness, dying, death, grief and loss.

We are the only hospice in this area to have earned the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission. Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, ADN, ASN, or BSN preferred, with a current GA RN License. Minimum of one year of RN experience in hospice, oncology, med-surg or home health, nursing home preferred, providing direct patient care required. Current CPR certification, drivers license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation. Ability to successfully interact with patients, families, physicians and the community. Excellent assessment and documentation skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires moderate visual concentration for patient charting/documentation. Position carries a risk of exposure to infectious diseases requiring standard safety precautions. The RN requires the mobility to ambulate or lift a patient with or without the assistance of devices in excess of 75 lbs. utilizing proper body mechanics.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position works a 40 hour week, Monday-Friday, with occasional requests to work additional days/hours as needed. Patient care is provided in their homes or other facilities. This position encounters stressful situations with patients and their families regarding end of life care.
