GIS Specialist
(Geographic Information System)
Responsible for maintenance and improvement of the BJWSA’s enterprise GIS databases. Responsibilities also include performing analysis on spatial data, creating maps, providing support to other departments and using GPS. The GIS Specialist maintains the BJWSA record drawing database for its distribution throughout the organization. Reports to the GIS Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography or associated technical discipline, or an Associate’s degree and ESRI Technical Certification in ArcGIS Desktop are preferred.
- Desired experience includes familiarity with interpreting engineering design drawings, working with AutoCAD files, understanding the concept of how Global Positioning Systems work, utilizing GPS devises and post processing GPS collections, a high comfort level with the ArcGIS Desktop suite including editing in an enterprise database environment, familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks, see each to completion, and convey results to management.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Salary Range: $22.05 to $33.08 per hour (depending on qualifications), plus great benefits package to include S.C.
