Director of Communications

Overview

North Point Hospitality is looking for an experienced Director of Communications to direct and coordinate the planning, implementing and evaluating of the overall marketing communications efforts. Currently North Point Hospitality has 9 hotels open in the southeast with 3 more planned to open this year. This position will be based in Savannah, GA.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the social media strategy, web presence, print content, public relations, promotions, advertising and media relations for all hotels
  • Plan and execute a content strategy that drives high engagement for social channels and monthly newsletter
  • Ensure all content created meets the brand standards for each brand according to guidelines given
  • Manage the advertising content to align with the overall goals for each individual hotel
  • Demonstrate success in creating and driving marketing campaigns using new and traditional outlets
  • Ability to handle media inquiries and provide communications counsel to leaders and peers
  • Proven performance working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Oversee multiple websites on the WordPress platform
  • Stay informed on the hospitality industry with current trends and ideas to drive revenue and adjust content as needed
  • Event lead for multiple events including but not limited to groundbreakings and grand openings
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while maintaining a positive team approach to working with internal and external partners

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Proven work history of leading a successful team
  • Understand the content marketing tactics, such as SEO, digital advertising, and social media advertising to include Facebook Ad Manager and HootSuite
  • Experience creating content for the web and growing a social media audience
  • Ability to analyze and present content and social performance
  • Strong Google Analytics, WordPress and Adobe Acrobat skills
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous hotel experience preferred, but not required
  • 3+ years of experience leading a marketing/communication department
