We publish Savannah: A Southern Journey, a beautiful coffee table book that’s featured in area lodging properties. We produce our Annual Tourism Awards Dinner and a golf tournament every year. Job Description: In the Member Services and Sales Manager position, your primary purpose is to increase revenues for the organization through sales of membership, fundraiser sponsorships and media advertising sales with Savannah: A Southern Journey. You will also manage and implement programs that create meaningful experiences and value for members and which meet the recruitment and retention goals of the organization. You’ll sell memberships to prospects in the tourism and hospitality community. You’ll sell sponsorships for major fundraisers and assist with planning and execution of all fundraisers and events to provide consistent value to members. Primarily, you’ll sell advertising and service the accounts for Savannah: A Southern Journey and the Concierge Dining Directory, a custom produced directory located in the lobbies of area lodging properties. We’re looking for someone who has the ability to research the market for new leads, and the organizational chops to keep up with those new leads, and ultimately someone who will close the deal. This takes a real self-starter. We know this also takes strong communication and organizational skills – someone who is keen on details. We’re all about the relationships here, so we also need you to follow up with your clients and make sure all their needs are met. This takes a great ability to collaborate, multi-task and problem solve. You’ll also represent the firm in a positive and professional manner at networking events. We need someone who can emulate the brand and image of the organization. Applicants who have experience selling media advertisement to local businesses would be highly favorable, and at the very least, we need to see a proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals with at least 2 to 5 years sales and marketing experience. This means you’ll work both independently and in a team environment. A minimum of a 40 hour work week is expected on a regular basis. Additional hours may be required to serve organizational events and operational needs. You will work with others in a team environment, and you may have other duties assigned by your supervisor. Salary plus commissions: Compensation package will include a base salary of $30,000 plus uncapped commissions. Benefits include bonus, vacation, paid time off and major holidays. Commission package Commission will be paid on a rolling basis after money or deposit has been secured based on the following percentages: • 15% of the revenue generated by bringing in new advertisers and sponsors • 10% of the revenue generated by bringing in new members • 5% of the revenue generated by signing existing advertisers and sponsors or ones that have been originated by other staff members (held to the discretion of management) There will be a bonus paid at the end of the year upon successful completion of the following criteria: • Tier 1 $5,000 – 15% increase in gross revenue over last year for Savannah: A Southern Journey; 31 restaurants in Concierge Dining Directory • Tier 2 $7500 – 20% increase in gross revenue over last year for Savannah: A Southern Journey; 33 restaurants in Concierge Dining Directory • Tier 3 $10,000 – 25% increase in gross revenue over last year for Savannah: A Southern Journey; 35 restaurants in Concierge Dining Directory
