Communications Coordinator

A church located in Historic Downtown Savannah is looking for a Communications Coordinator to prepare and edit Church publications and be the publisher for all aspects of social media.

Responsibilities:

Design, produce, and distribute the Parish Paper and Sunday Service Booklet as well as special service leaflets for funerals, weddings, holy days, evensongs, etc.

Prepare paperwork, sort, boxing, and labeling for appropriate mail class.

Coordinate with the Administrative Assistant all the needed group, article and event updates.

Prepare sanctuary for worship by stocking bulletins, preparing audiotape, and providing sextons with info to update church board and hymnal boards.

Update/maintain website and all social media outlets.

Coordinate all outside advertising.

Maintain facility schedule by receiving and confirming requests for room reservations, AV equipment, and communicating calendar changes to staff via email and at staff meetings.

Provide clerical assistance for program/administrative staff, church groups, and committees including but not limited to designing, printing, and distributing brochures and pamphlets.

Assist with design marketing materials for various departments of the basis of availability. May include posters, brochures, flyers, etc. utilizing the style book.

Answer the phones, route calls, and take messages as needed.

Assist with maintenance of ACS database as related to Constant Contact, Access ACS, Facility Scheduler or an application related to parish or parishioner communications.

Attend regular staff meetings.

Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree or associate Degree, preferably in Communications

Effective communication skills, both oral and written

Attention to detail

Self-starter

High level of creativity, especially in the area of graphic design

Tech-savvy

Able to identify and satisfy communication needs of various demographics within church body

Able to design and maintain a comprehensive online presence

Strong technical skills in web design and ongoing maintenance

Comfortable with multi-line phone system

Proficient with standard office equipment

Proficient in Microsoft Windows and various applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
