Savannah Square, one of Savannah’s premier full service Senior Living Communities is searching for a Director of Nursing.  This 40 bed skilled nursing facility is part of a community that takes a concierge approach and offers independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation & wellness, skilled healthcare and respite care options.  The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall management of the SNF Nursing Department and coordination with other disciplines to provide quality care to all residents.  Hours are Monday –Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, however flexibility is key.  This position would require hours outside of this schedule at times as needed.  In addition, the ability to be on call 24/7  is required, but is a shared responsibility with the Assistant Director of Nursing.  This facility offers a full medical package as well as 401k, life insurance and PTO time.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

*Manage the nursing department and ensure an effective and efficient facility.

*Oversee all aspects of resident care.

*Responsible for management and development of policies and procedures.

*Recruit, train and evaluate staff  on various guidelines.

*Manage schedules and maintain adequate staffing to ensure optimal patient care.

*Serve on various Quality Improvement Committees.

Requirements include but not limited to:

*Hold a current GA Registered Nurse license and CPR certification.

*BSN preferred.

*3+ years experience as in Geriatric Nursing with management responsibilities.

*Prior Director of Nursing experience is preferred.

*Experience and understanding of State and Federal regulations.

*Ability to take ownership, be proactive, prioritize and hold excellent organizational skills.

*Strong Microsoft Office understanding and computer savvy with learning new programs.

*Must be able to adhere to the physical demands required of the position.

*Must hold the ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
