Field Foreman

POSITION: Field Foreman

General: Bonitz of Georgia, Inc. is a family owned subcontracting business that has operated contintiously for nearly 55 years. We specialize in the installation of poured, pre-cast and engineered roof deck systems that are used in the commercial construction industry. Our work is primarily based in the school, prison and hospital construction market.

There are several basic requirements that are associated with this job and they are as follows:

This job requires that the individual be willing to work outside on the jobsite in various weather conditions. (ex. Summer heat, winter cold, etc.)

This job requires that the individual be able to climb a ladder, scaffold or any other means to reach the rooftop.

This job requires that the individual be able to work at heights and use the proper safety equipment when required.

This job requires that the individual have a valid driver’s license and an MVR record that meets the minimum requirements that are indicated in the company handbook.

This job requires that the foreman be available to supervise and install projects out of town that require overnight travel on a weekly basis. 


This job requires that the individual will possess a (30) Hour OSHA certification, CPR training and other related construction training. The applicant is not required to have this training prior to start but acknowledges that he or she will be required to achieve and maintain these levels of training while employed with the company (training costs paid for by company). 

JOB DESCRIPTION – FIELD FOREMAN: ROOF DECK DEPARTMENT

The field foreman is responsible for delivering to our customer a quality roof deck system.

In order for the customer to receive a quality deck system the foreman must instruct all crews so that they
can operate in an efficient manner.

The foreman is responsible for all manuals, literature, etc. that is associated with the job. This may include but
not limited to the job superintendent’s guide, product literature and all equipment manuals.

The foreman is also responsible for the morale and the well being of the crews. He must make sure that he has the
proper personnel in the proper positions to accomplish his tasks.

The foreman is to direct the crew from the start of the project to the completion of the project. He should
constantly anticipate the next move the crew must make in order to keep the process flowing smoothly.

The foreman is responsible for making sure that the crew has the proper tools and equipment (in working
condition) to successfully complete a pour. This should be accomplished before the crew arrives on a jobsite.

Any repairs to equipment, hoses, trucks, etc should be completed before or after working hours. Only emergency
repairs should be completed during onsite working hours.

The foreman will receive from the general superintendent any and all equipment, materials, money, personnel
support, etc. to produce a quality product.

The foreman is responsible for all paperwork associated with this position (Ex. time sheets, expense reports, delivery tickets, etc.).

The general superintendent and the foreman must have a pre-job meeting before each project. In turn the foreman
should have a briefing with his personnel to discuss the project before they start.

The field foreman must complete, within the first twelve months of employment, a Class A – CDL course. All expenses for the CDL course will be paid by the company. The foreman will also receive a $500.00 bonus upon the successful completion. 

JOB START:

Salary: Starting pay is based on construction and management experience. The salary range for the first year is ($ 800.00 per week). The employee acknowledges that this is a salaried management position and not subject to overtime hours.

The employee will receive (3) evaluations within the first year to measure progress. At each evaluation the
employee will be given a raise provided that the goals and objectives set by management are being achieved. 

YEARLY EVALUATION

After (1) one year all wage increase considerations will be based on an annual evlauation that reflects if the individual is meeting the goals and objectives of the department, set by the management.

WEEKEND WORK:

The foreman will receive a half days pay for four hours or less and a full days pay for five or more hours. Pay
rate is at the standard hourly rate, no overtime.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:

Yearly bonuses will be given in August provided that the roof deck department is profitable.

Provided that the field foreman is meeting the goals and objectives set by the general superintendent the pouring foreman will receive a $ 500.00 quarterly production bonus, provided that the roof deck department is profitable.

The pouring foreman will receive a $ 100.00 per quarter safety incentive provided that he meets or exceeds the safety requirements as set forth by the company.

After one year the field foreman will receive one week paid vacation. After two years the foreman will receive two weeks paid vacation. The weeks cannot be taken consecutively.

A company truck will be provided to the field foreman for limited personnel use. The truck will be assigned after the foreman has completed his or her training period.

When out of town the foreman will be given $20.00 per night for per diem. A hotel room will also be provided.

After two years the field foreman will be eligible to participate in our SIMPLE retirement program.

After (90) ninety days individual health insurance will be available at the current rate.
