Our client, a Nephrology & Hypertension Medical Practice, is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist for their Savannah office.
The practice is a full service, privately owned, and operated practice based in historic Savannah, Georgia. Their focus and specialty are diagnosing and treating patients with kidney-related diseases and hypertension. The team at the practice dedicates their lives to providing their patients and their families with the finest of care as we seek to enhance health and improve the quality of life for those we serve.
The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Greet and acknowledge all incoming patients in a pleasant tone.
Answers calls in a timely and professional manner.
Acknowledges patients as arrived or as no-shows into Practice Management computer system
Accepts co-payments or payments on the patients account.
Assists with patient using Kiosk system, including monitoring that Kiosk system and practice management system are being updated accordingly.
Enters appropriate and accurate data into the system assuring that all patient information including initial, secondary and workers comp insurance.
Reviews eligibility to ensure proper insurance has been received.
Scans patient insurance card and all data into Practice Management computer system
Requests any changes in information and enters into the system.
Obtains signature from patient for the privacy notification if patient does not use Kiosk.
Sends appointment reminders daily.
Reconciles and balances payment receipts to cash drawer for deposit, credit card payments and checks collected by front desk.
Monitors and distributes faxes that come to main fax line.
Posts paper checks/payments when able to assist payment poster.
Works effectively with patients and co-workers.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge of medical practice and care: to assist in patient management.
Knowledge of general office equipment and Practice Management systems
Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology and environment to facilitate patient care.
Ability to communicate clearly, courteously and effectively.
High School diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience in medical insurance.
Medical billing software experience preferred but not required.
All potential candidates must pass pre-employment drug screen, skills assessments, reference, and criminal background check.
