Parish Administrator

A church located in Historic Downtown Savannah is looking for a Parish Administrator to serve as the primary point of contact and communications at the church office.

Responsibilities:

Greet visitors, answer incoming calls, sort mail, and issue parking decals.

Provide support to parishioners including requests for documentation and access to digital records.

Prepare items for mailing, maintain postage equipment, monitor postage account.

Assist staff with schedules, transportation, reservations, and other administrative tasks (copying, faxing, scanning, etc.).

Handle miscellaneous correspondence as required by Business Manager or clergy.

Order office supplies and maintain servicing of office equipment.

Enter and maintain parishioner records in the church (ACS) database.

Prepare and record paperwork for baptisms, weddings and funerals.

Maintain the church registers.

Process requests for transfers in and out of parish.

Record attendance records for services, classes or events.

Maintain the official church calendar for all events.

Prepare and distribute weekly church schedules.

Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to ensure dates and schedules are updated and communicated.

Provide support to the Business Manager and Communications Coordinator.

Assist with events as needed.

Provide support to the clergy by providing scheduling and/or appointment reminders, preparing correspondence and church publications as requested, assist with travel arrangements, and maintaining files for weddings, baptisms and funerals.

Other administrative and event duties as needed.

Requirements:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.)

Web-publishing skills are preferred.

Must be organized, with excellent communication skills and polite telephone etiquette.

Ability to keep accurate records and maintain strict confidentiality.

Very good people skills.

High School diploma or GED.

Valid drivers license.

Health and safety skills (CPR, First Aid) not required, but preferred.

Ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance.
